Year 198
"No, your form is off! Again!"
Kaval hissed low under his breath, the Namekian not exactly thrilled with the current situation. For the last several months, he had been placed under Valkirs' care, the human male training him in the ways of combat. He'd gone through quite a bit of regular training, working under Dirge, but that time had come to an end, and now he found himself at the mercy of the human male. It wasn't exactly what he wanted, but there wasn't much that he could do, as he'd agreed to the training.
Another male stood across from him, panting heavily. He was a Saiyan, from the looks of his hair, not to mention the strange, monkey-like tail emerging from the end of his spine. Kaval broke his stance, turning to glare at Valkirs. "I know. So you've told me, somewhere between a dozen and two dozen times. What would you like me to do about it, Seth?" He took a strange delight in calling the man by his first name, as if to show him that there wasn't power over him.
Valkirs smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'd like you to get it right, if you wouldn't mind. I don't have the time, and neither do you, to waste talking. Your training has been slacking lately." He took a few steps closer to the Namekian, his dark eyes narrowed, despite the strange smile on his face. "I dare say you might not have the drive to do this, Kaval. I find your lack of commitment…annoying."
The human was so close, Kaval had to physically resist taking his head off with a single swing. However, he knew that he'd agreed to do this; it wasn't being forced upon him, like he wanted to believe. "I just don't see how this fighting style you're trying to teach me is any benefit at all, or how you're a master of it." He grunted, stretching out his wings. "And it's not just me. Look at Nasir over there," he said, nodding towards the Saiyan. "He's just as tired as I am."
Shaking his head, Seth moved in between both of them. "You're both pathetic," he murmured, before unleashing two blasts of ki, one at each of them. Kaval had enough sense still in him to dodge out of the way, but Nasir had been standing with his eyes closed, trying to get energy back into his body. He opened them just in time for them to widen, and the blast caught him square in the chest. The Saiyan flew backward before crashing into the wall, crumpling to the floor.
"And just what the hell was that for?" Kaval asked as he stood, brushing a bit of dust from his clothes. "Throwing a tantrum, are we?" A smirk alighted his face as he spoke these words, though he kept up a ready stance, just in case Valkirs decided to try something against him. The human was actually quite strong, despite his frail build, and Kaval had no wish to fight against him. "Why don't you quit while you're ahead?"
Seth merely smirked at Kaval's response. "Oh, are you one to tell me how to run things, Kaval? Shall I instead bow to your wisdom, as you should do to mine?" The human shrugged, moving towards him again. "Or do I have to beat you into submission? Again?" As he said this, the smirk grew wider until it was almost a smile. "I remember how that turned out; do you?"
Kaval let out a muted grunt, looking away from him. "Yeah," he muttered, though wasn't exactly pleased to say such things. He had gone off on Seth one of the days, and the man had responded with a great deal of anger, and much more violence than Kaval had expected. Even with his Namekian regeneration, he spent much of the following day in the infirmary. It hadn't been a pleasant experience, and it was far from one that he was willing to repeat.
"I hope that we have an understanding, then?" Seth said with an amused tone, and cracked his knuckles, looking to the Namekian. "But whether we do or not, it appears that our Saiyan comrade is down for awhile. I suppose that there's very little to do but allow me to be your sparring partner for now." The human kicked the Saiyan to the side, and took up a defensive stance. "So come now; try to hit me."
The Namekian let out a slight sigh as he saw the eagerness in the man's eyes, and knew that his would be far from a regular training session. "Fine. But I am better than the last time we fought, remember."
"That might be so, little Kaval, but I will still take quite the pleasure in beating you lifeless again," he responded with a smirk, removing his glasses. Kaval darted forward, unleashing a barrage of punches from a distance with the Mystic Attack, letting the range assist him.
The human's hand seemed as if a blur as he seemingly barely twitched, knocking the attacks aside as Kaval drew close, a smirk on his face. Ducking under one of the Namekian's punches, he threw an elbow deep into his sternum, which caused the winged one to take a step backward, coughing. Seth gave no pause in his attacks as he spun, dropping his center of gravity to drive his fist into Kaval's knee before snapping that arm upward, catching him in the jaw.
The Namekian took a step backward, but didn't let the attack press him backward any further than that small bit. His jaw resounded with pain, and each breath now hurt to draw in. On top of that, standing put pressure on the knee, which wasn't exactly doing the best at the moment, after the attack. He grunted, his eyes looking down at the human, before he lashed out with a kick, hoping to catch Seth off guard.
However, there was barely a shift in movement as the human blocked the strike, leaving Kaval with a rush of forward motion and nowhere to put it, which caused his entire sense of balance to begin to fail. "You've fallen out of form," Seth said with a grim smile before three hard strikes caught the Namekian, all seeming to hit simultaneously. Kaval's eyes widened in pain, slamming into the wall before he even realized he was moving.
