Talon dodged a thrust and responded with a high slash that the android ducked away from. The pirate faked another high slash, and when the droid's defense went up, he lowered his trajectory and his cutlass ripped into the robot's stomach. Sparks flew as the steel connected with the android's metal plating; bits of the fake-flesh flew off and clung to Talon's blade. He had done some damage, but there was no real penetration.
"I guess cunning is something that can't be programmed," Talon mocked his robotic foe. The android replied with another flurry of strikes. The pirate blocked, deflected, and dodged; all the while returning attacks that were also avoided. The android made a hard down-ward slash that Talon had to use a two-hand grip to block. While both of his hands were on his sword hilt, the android swung its fist around and decked Talon in the face. The human stumbled, and during that second where his guard was down, the droid slashed and caught him in the tricep with the tip of its blade.
Talon used a zanzouken to retreat back closer to the tree. He gripped his bleeding gash and gnashed his teeth in pain. The android had made a hit and hoped to capitalize on it. It rushed in and Talon was on the defensive again. He blocked another downward blow, dodged a torso thrust, and deflected a face-height strike before he returned with a few torso-height attacks.
Ever since the first one, Talon hadn't been able to fool the droid with any more feigned strikes. After another failed fake-out, he decided to try bursting instead. He began attacking high, at the same time keeping his guard up; after a combo of high-aimed strikes, Talon coupled a high thrust with a front kick to the android's knee. His sword was blocked, but the kick landed and put the android off balance. Talon brought his sword down quickly and caught the robot's neck in a downward slash.
The sparks of the metal on metal glimmered brightly in the night air, but this time they were followed by a flow of a dark liquid. Talon had cut deep enough and severed one of the oil lines that cris-crossed the android's interior. Although its expression didn't change, the android's body language seemed to give off a worrying vibration as it stepped back to prepare for another assault.
Talon scored a few good shots, but the android still had the advantage of unlimited stamina. While he huffed and puffed to feed his body with the oxygen it demanded, the android stood calm and collected, never showed fatigue, and was always ready. It lunged forward, unleashing a barrage of attacks that Talon could hardly keep up with. He blocked and dodged, but was barely getting out of the way in time. The droid made a side slash, then as Talon moved to block, changed the direction of his momentum and pushed Talon's sword up; with this guard up high, the robot slashed its sword down and cut into the pirate's thigh before he had time to move away.
Blood, once again, seeped out of Talon's body. He limped backwards a few steps and cursed under his breath, but he didn't have time to handle the wound; he had to kill the android before he became too tired and overwhelmed. He was bleeding, but so was the android. Whoever would bleed out first would be the loser, so Talon intended to drain the droid of every drop.
"Ahhhh!" Talon screamed to startle the robot as he rushed in. He jumped and used his free hand to push the android's hand out away from its body. At the same time, he pushed the android's sword away with his sword, and planted his knee right into the robot's face. With only a second to act, Talon landed and spun 360 degrees, gaining as much momentum as he could. With a final burst of strength, Talon plunged his cutlass deep into the center of the robot's chest. He felt the first layer of metal cave in, then small breaks on the inside, and final the second layer of metal broke and the blade exited the android's back.
He knew the android would pull it out if he just left it in there, and if he pulled it out then it would be able to stop the oil from flowing out. Talon hugged tight against the droid's body, keeping his sword buried inside. The droid fought desperately to pry Talon off and get the blade out of its body. It used its free hand to deliver vicous blows to Talon's sides; luckily its sword was too long to reach him.
Talon held on with all his might. He suffered punches, headbutts, and eye beams, but he refused to let go. The oil gushed out, drenching his midsection and running down the android front and back. The robot's movements started to become slower and less fluid as its lubricant ran dry. Finally, with one last headbutt, the droid knocked Talon loose. The pirate stumbled backwards more than twenty feet until he knocked into the tree.
The android used its free hand, pulled the cutlass out, and at the same time, threw it directly at Talon in a final attempt to end the human's life. Talon ducked, partially out of skill and partially out of sheer fatigue. The blade sunk into the tree trunk and was suspended there.
The droid stumbled drunkenly around, unable to hold itself upright, until finally its red eye went black and it collapsed on the ground. Talon sat under the remains of the tree for several minutes. Catching his breath and letting the pain subside from most of his body. He had two sword cuts: one on his arm, the other on his thigh. He had broken ribs, a broken nose, and burns on his face, head, and shoulders. Talon crawled from under the tree and over to his duffle bag. He pulled out his bottle of namekian regeration fluid and popped the cork. It didn't taste the greatest, but Talon drank until only a little more than half was left. He replaced the top and dropped it back into the bag.
Almost instantly, his wounds began to close up. He could feel his ribs and nose resetting and healing. The pain internally and externally slowly began to fade.
"God bless those Nameks," he whispered into the night. He sat back down, resting against the tree trunk and looked toward the east. There, on the horizon, rays of pinkish and yellow light peaked up to chase the darkness away.
Talon rested for what seemed like an hour before he stood back up and pulled his cutlass out of the wood. He walked over to the android's corpse, and with eight powerful chops, decapitated the machine.
With two heads in his possession, Talon packed up what was left of his camp and head back toward South City. He no longer thought it safe to hunt these things alone; he needed a partner, or at least a lackey. Surely, somewhere in that city there would be someone willing to work with a scoundrel like him...or at least he hoped.
